Power Disc Lock offers you the possibility of protecting your discs so that they cannot be illegally copied or used in any other unlawful way. It allows you to burn standard or ISO-based discs fully protected, as well as to create protected executable files that will alert the system against any illegal copies made out of it. Power Disc Lock offers you various customizable protection systems for you to choose from.
The process is simple, and the program's attractive interface is intuitive enough for you to figure it all out on your own. The main window will surely remind you of the kind of interface you expect to find in most burning utilities. You are presented with a tree structure of your drives from where you can choose the files that will be burnt into the CD, DVD, or Blu-ray recordable disc you want to use to distribute your valuable software tools. The various protection options are applied on the fly and they are selected just by checking the right boxes below, so Power Disc Locks actually looks very much like a standard burning tool.
Instead of applying obsolete protection methods like adding bad or weak sectors, this Sorensoft protection tool can introduce anti-extraction data on your discs or ISO archives, so that they cannot be opened or their files extracted in any way. It can also hide sensitive folders from any operating system, and resize some folders up to 4 GB. On the bottom side of the program's interface you will find various boxes dealing with these protection methods - you can select to create a dummy volume, add a signature protection, add guard (and double-guard) sectors, and even define their size. ISO images count on extra features to make them even more secure - you can hide folders, disable the path table, secure the folders list and the root directory, and many more. Once you are happy with all the locks you added to your disc, just tell the program to burn it for you. The resulting disc may not be absolutely pirate-proof (but then again, what is?), but it will surely keep honest people honest.
